Greater Noida West has emerged as preferred living
destination in Delhi-NCR with all major developers flooding the area with their
many projects. Analysts expect the inventory in Noida extension to be around 15
lakh. With such a huge number of dwellers in the area, the need of the hour is
to have an alternate mode of commutation than just roads. In this wake, a metro
line has been proposed in the area. Amrapali Group, a premier real estate
developer group in Delhi –NCR believes that the proposed Noida Extension metro
Line would offer better inter and intra city connectivity.
If the proposition gets approval, then the benefits to the consumers living in Noida Extension (Greater Noida-West), Noida and Greater Noida will be of multiple folds. A Detailed Project Report (DPR) has already been prepared by the Noida Authority and would soon be tabled for approval. The report has already been approved by joint board of Noida and Greater Noida authorities after they received it from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

The proposed line will extend from Noida sector-71 to
Knowledge Park-V in Greater Noida(West). The estimated construction cost is
Rs3884 crores and the route would expectedly need just 4 years to be
operational.
It will be an elevated corridor project extending around 15
kms and would have 9 stations. Official Spokesperson for Amrapali Group said
that the needed approval from the UP Government will bring in lots of
advantages for the dwellers in their projects in Noida. The metro route would
serve as the basic travelling lifeline. This is especially necessary for an
area like Greater Noida West where more than 15 lakh consumers will be living.
The roads would run free of traffic if metro runs parallel to other modes of
transportation. Amrapali Group has 24 projects in Noida and Greater Noida
combined. Many of these are completed and many other are nearing possession.
Once the final DPR and the Metro alignment are approved, an
MOU will be signed between Noida Metro Rail Company and Delhi Metro Rail
Corporation in next 6 months. Construction will start post the signing of an
MOU.
